Tags allow you to quickly describe or group if you like, subjects of the same category, later those may be used for filtering.

To add, manage or delete tags you need to have the Editor role in the Space
Overview
Any editor in the space can manage the list of tags available for requirements, stories, URL library links and reference model nodes. Go to Space Settings and select "Customizations" in the left-hand menu.
Tags cannot have spaces and any special characters like ! £ # $ % etc.
TIP You can run a tags report finding out where a certain tag is being used across the Org.
