End-user feedback in Salesforce

Feedback; Feature request; Purple question mark; Purple ?, End user feedback

Updated over 4 months ago

You can allow your end users to log pain points and enhancement requests against your Salesforce objects, record types and fields from within the Salesforce UI.

Prerequisites

Leaving feedback from Salesforce

When using our Chrome extension, end users in your Org can leave feedback directly against objects, record types, and fields from within Salesforce UI.

Click on the purple "?" at the top of the page or against a field and click "Leave feedback" to leave a comment. You can choose the priority of your request/issue and attach a screenshot of the issue from your computer.

There are additional insights captured automatically:

  • metadata component against which feedback was left

  • end- users's group

  • page URL where feedback was left

  • record type of the record where feedback was left

Managing who can leave feedback and where

Management of feedback availability is covered in this administration guide.

How to collaborate and discuss feedback

You can "@mention" a user when leaving feedback. If the user is a member of the Space, the system will suggest their username, which you then need to select. After submitting feedback, that user will be notified of the new feedback via in-app and email.

You can also post replies under the original feedback if you like. The user who posted the original comment will be notified of any reply.

Feedback in Salesforce can be utilized in a variety of use-cases. You can read on that in our Implementation Workbooks collection. You can consider:

  • Using feedback for User Acceptance Testing new functionality in a Sandbox

  • Using feedback for general pain point / request logging mechanism with all users in Production Org

  • Using feedback for pain points/ requests from teams only in applications relevant to their business function

  • Using feedback for specific requests from designated team leaders
