The "Org at glance" dashboard, part of 'Org overview' section in Analytics 360, is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of your Salesforce Org's metadata make-up.

Aimed at consultants performing org discovery, this feature set offers a series of doughnut charts that break down various aspects of the Org, from object types to automation components. This dashboard is a powerful tool for understanding the Org's structure, customization level, and automation, aiding in effective decision-making and planning.

Prerequisites

Understanding Object Types in the Org

As a consultant, you'll find a doughnut chart that categorizes Salesforce objects into various types. The chart breaks down objects into Standard objects with records, Standard objects without records, Custom objects, and Custom metadata. This visual representation helps you quickly identify what objects are in use for storing data and extend to which standard Salesforce capability is being used.

Overview of Org's Automation Make-up

This section features another doughnut chart that provides a high-level overview of the Org's automation components. The chart categorizes automation into apex classes and triggers, flows, legacy automation (like process builder workflows and workflow rules), and low-code automation (everything else). This serves as a precursor to a more detailed automation overview, helping you understand the Org's automation landscape at a glance.

UI Components Analysis

The UI Components Analysis chart breaks down the user interface components used in the Org. The categories include Visualforce pages, Page layouts, and Lightning pages. This helps you understand the technologies that the Org relies on for its user interface, which is crucial for planning any UI-related projects or optimizations.

Assessing Record Types Across Object

This section focuses on the number of record types across various objects. The chart categorizes objects based on the number of record types they have, ranging from more than 50 to none. This helps you gauge the level of customization in the Org, allowing you to identify potential areas of complexity before diving in.

Identifying Over-Customized Objects

Here, you'll find a chart that breaks down objects based on the number of custom fields they have. This helps you identify where the Org might have the most technical debt or complexity. The categories range from objects with more than 100 custom fields to those with none, providing a clear picture of customization levels.

Permission Controls Overview

The last section provides a breakdown of the permission controls used in the Org. It categorizes them into the number of Profiles, Permission sets, Permission set groups, Roles, and Groups. This helps you understand the Org's security landscape, which is essential for any compliance or governance initiatives.
