3 options for clients to license Elements

How to invoice for Elements and how to get help

Updated today

As a consultant, after 100 days covered by your Consulting space, you decide whether you want to bill your customer for the use of the Elements software or your customer can engage direct with Elements to pay for their workspace.

Here are 3 options for Elements to be licensed clients:

  1. You facilitate the client paying for the licenses and dealing directly with us. This does not change your relationship with your client to deliver your services. If you have a Consulting License, you can be invited into any client space at the level of functionality of the space and provided with admin or edit rights without impacting their rights.

  2. You pay for the licenses and charge through to the customer.  This is a common scenario, whether for ongoing Managed Services where you are providing the Elements software as an explicit or separate part of your client billing. For example where the Elements licenses are a relatively minor expense and you are already an approved vendor. As a consultant, you are able to pay monthly for continued access to Elements past the 100 days included on each individual Consulting space. Note: In the case where your relationship is project based and may come to an end, the client would need to move to scenario 1, if they want to access the services at the same level.

  3. You pay for the licenses but charge the customer a monthly retainer which covers Elements licenses and any other bundled services such as Org maintenance, Org documentation, process mapping support, process compliance and versioning. Again, we are keen to support such value-added services. Note: In the case where your relationship is time-bound and may come to an end, the client would need to move to scenario 1, if they want to access the services at the same level.

It should be noted that customers can always engage with us directly via chat/in app support. If you can maintain information about registered clients with us and good communication, we can ensure we are providing you and your clients with the best possible and aligned support.

Inside Elements we track licensing and payment at both the domain and Space level, so you can use different approaches with different clients.

Licensing

In terms of your project(s), you will normally have one work Space per client.

Your Consulting License allows you to run as many client spaces as you want, with as many users are useful for the project.

When a client wants to license Elements, a summary of the principles are available on the customer pricing page). For enterprise license levels, please engage with us to help you position Elements in the most supportive and valuable way in your early conversations.

While the Professional and Agentforce Professional license levels are very capable and powerful, the Configuration Mining and Advanced Metadata analysis available at the Enterprise level are not contained in your Consulting License capabilities.

If these are the capabilities that can transform your project deliver and deliver significantly more success at a fraction of the time and cost, we want to support you early and often in those conversations, rather than risk undermining you inadvertently by showing the client powerful capabilities that you may not have realised existed or understood how to leverage.

I want to use Elements outside the scope of Salesforce

Not a problem. Please engage with us to discuss your specific situation. We have a large minority of clients getting significant value from the Process mapping, process management and diagraming capabiltiies outside of Salesforce.

In the context of building Agents, working with other platforms and the emerging "vibe coding" capabilities which rely on clear understanding of understanding what you want to build, Elements is also playing a groundbreaking part. It turns out that Elements with UPN is very powerful for 'instructing your digital labour'. We are working with numerous organisations who have diverse IT landscapes, both with and without Salesforce. Elements can play a very powerful role. Clearly, Elements has been very focused for many years on developing specific capabilities around Salesforce, but the pricniples and capabilities apply horizontally. Talk to us about your situation to understand how much value we can deliver together!

PRIVATE CLOUD

There are occasions where there is a need for a private cloud option because of specific organization or regional policies. Elements was architected to be able to be run on a separate instance of AWS for you and your trading partners. Our product update and production release processes are built with the operational costs of maintaining private cloud and multiple instances in sync. You choose the AWS hosting location and also the DR data center. AWS interactive map The standard annual cost is $50,000 with $5,000 setup charge. Discuss your specific situation with us since the costs can vary depending on the situation. In some cases, the ongoing cost may be higher or lower, but we prefer to set the right expectations to ensure requests are based on true needs and not wishes.
