License Management: Consulting Users
As a Corporate Management Admin you can maximize use of your pool of consulting licenses by both assigning and revoking/re-assigning Consulting ensuring they are maximally used.
For example you may have purchased a pool of consulting (multi-space) Elements.cloud licenses and wish to issue them to consultants who'll be leveraging the platform in support of consulting work. At some point you may wish to return a license the pool when a consultant's work no longer requires a Consulting license.
Fortunately the process is simple.
Provisioning an Elements.cloud user as a Consulting user
Access the Corporate Management App via the settings icon in the toolbar:
Select the "Details" icon from the left navigation bar and make note of the "Number of allocated multi-space licenses" available-- the first number represents the number of assigned licenses and the second number is the total licenses owned by your company.
If you have sufficient available licenses you can navigate to the "Users" icon from the left navigation bar and locate the user you'd like to enable with a consulting license.
Click on the User's row and watch the right sidebar update with their information.
Slide the "Multi-space editor" slider to the right or "On" position to allocate the license.
Note: The slider color will turn blue upon success.
Revoking and returning Consulting Licenses to the pool.
Follow the steps above to:
Open the Corporate Management console
Locate and select the user account you wish to demote
from within the "I" icon information screen on the right side of the page, Slide the "Multi-space editor" slider to the left or "Off" position to return the license to the license pool.
Make a user Inactive
Should you wish you may make a user inactive which suspends their Elements.cloud account regardless of licenses and permissions. The user will not be able to log into Elements.cloud to access any features or content.
You can reactivate the account at any time.
From the User screen as above:
Locate and select the user account you wish to suspend and watch the right sidebar update with the user account information
Press the "Make Inactive" button
From the popup confirmation screen press the "MAKE INACTIVE" button to complete the process.
To Restore and Inactive User
Access the Corporate Management App via the settings icon in the toolbar as above
Click on the user icon in the left navigation menu
Click on "Inactive" in the header menu
Locate the user account you wish to restore to Active status
Press the "Make Active"
Within the popup confirmation screen press the "MAKE ACTIVE" button to complete the process.
To Delete a user
Corporate Admins can delete users which removes them from the system and terminates their accounts.
When deleting a user account, the Corporate Admin can decide which other user will take ownership of the deleted user's content ensuring nothing is lost as a result of the deletion. You can read more about content transfer further below.
Following the steps above log into corporate admin, select Users from the left menu, locate the account you wish to delete and instead of pressing the "Make inactive" button as shown in prior steps press the "Delete User" button showing in the color red.
Unlike prior steps this action will have significant impact on access and ownership models as described in the warning popup. After reading the warning you may wish to make the user Inactive and ensure "Multi-space editor" is deactivated.
If you choose to proceed you will be prompted with the following message and request for your Elements Password as confirmation of the deletion.
