TTL Setting Error Message

Why you may see a "Failed to modify" message after updating the TTL setting under Corporate Management, and what to do about it.

If you see a "Failed" message after updating the TTL setting under Corporate Management › Policies, the change still saved — here's what to do.

This setting only appears if Corporate Management is enabled for your organization. If you don't see it, this article doesn't apply to you.

What to do

Wait 5–10 minutes, then refresh the screen. The setting has already been saved. Once you refresh, you'll see it turned on.

What you might see

  • You update Enforce TTL (turn it on, or change its value) under Corporate Management › Policies.

  • A loading spinner runs for about a minute.

  • A "Failed to modify" message appears, and the toggle looks like it switched back off.

Why it happens

We update all active user sessions so that the TTL change applies immediately, rather than waiting for each user's next login. The "Failed" message is the result of the connection timing out before the new setting has finished applying to all active sessions. The setting is still applied successfully — you'll just need to refresh the screen after several minutes to see the result.
